TIEHH Receives High Visibility for its International Activity in India.

The Institute of Environmental and Human Health (TIEHH) has been organizing an international conference in India for the past four years to provide a global platform to present cutting-edge research and ideas in the burgeoning field of technical textiles and nonwovens. This year the international conference, “Advances in Textiles, Nonwovens and Technical Textiles-ATNT 2008” will be held in the vibrant textile city, Coimbatore, India from July 14-16, 2008.

This year for the first time, several world leading professional/trade bodies such as the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA), USA, Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI), USA, Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI), USA and Society of Dyers and Colorists (SDC-India) are all supporting this international event.

Due to the international significance and the INDO–US collaboration, India’s two leading broadsheet newspapers, The Hindu and Business Line have recognized this event by publishing news about this conference. On April 8, 2008, India’s most circulated English language national broadsheet newspapers, “Business Line” & “The Hindu” (India’s National English Newspaper) have published information on this international event.

Texas Tech University has been highlighted as the organizer of this event in India. These two broadsheet newspapers have several million circulations and are prestigious in the Indian subcontinent. TIEHH’s international outreach activities have gained high visibility in India. Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar* of The Institute of Environmental and Human Health has been serving as the organizing secretary for this conference.
