Add firearms to the list of industries in Lubbock. However, these are not ordinary firearms.

As of tomorrow Lubbock will be home to a gun manufacturing company. Scot Towner will hold a ribbon cutting for his brand new company Towner Manufacturing.

Here’s the proud new owner, Scot Towner: “It’s a machine shop. I’ll be producing custom rifles and shotguns in the future. The first product is a rifle primarily designed for hunting wild hogs.”

And more products will become available over time. By the way these are not common firearms that you find any ole shop. These are high end, high quality weapons. The weapon Towner just mentioned would sell for more than $1,600. The open house is tomorrow from 10:30 to 2:30. The ribbon cutting is at 11:00 am.

Towner manufacturing is located at Reese Technology Center, #51. It’s next door to the police academy.
